"As I followed the idea of using kapa into fruition I realized that the very thing that I had been resisting was exactly what I was supposed to do all along."
Great quality and absolutely beautiful! When I saw the Emerald Threaders from Zaffera Studios online I ordered them right away! I got my earrings in the mail soon after with a sweet personalized note. My ears are pretty sensitive but I had no issues putting them in which I was stoked about. Also I love the length and the color. It's really the perfect touch to any outfit, but I especially love putting them on to feel a lil dressed up even if it's just to go to the grocery store. I love my Emerald Threaders!!

I have come to Erica for my jewelry and home decor needs several times, Some pieces were commissioned for specific gifts. She always listened to my ideas, and the results have been stunningly beautiful. Thank you, Erica, You'll be hearing from me again.

I have multiple pieces from Zaffera and I love every single piece. Some are staples that I wear everyday and others are statement pieces and it never fails that I get nonstop compliments on them. The quality is incredible and you can easily tell the attention to detail that is put in to every piece. Plus Erica is always quick to respond if you have any questions and is super nice so that’s always a bonus to know that the maker is awesome. This is definitely my go-to jewelry brand now!

Our Story
Since I started this business I knew I wanted my art to inspire your inner journey. It began going one direction, and like most things, has changed course. I realized my jewelry was always meant to celebrate my culture and help cultivate a connection between other diaspora native Hawaiians and the āina our ancestors called home. Maya Angelou said, "you can't really know where you're going until you know where you have been."
My mission is for my art to foster a relationship between other diaspora native Hawaiians and the ‘āina; to help create a deeper connection to one another.
The word māhū translates to "in the middle" and was used to describe those of dual male and female mind, spirit and heart. Māhū were an integral part of Hawaiian society, having tremendous cultural and spiritual value. Many were healers and teachers who passed on genealogies and knowledge from generation to generation through chants and hula.
