Welcome to Zaffera

I figured my first blog post would be well spent introducing you a little more to myself and this business I've created. My name is Erica and I am the designer and maker behind Zaffera. I'm sure you're wondering exactly how to pronounce that, right? Ză-fair-ā

The name came about during a glass of wine with friends. I wanted to name my company after the little love of my life, Zelda, but all the options were already taken. So we started looking up other words that started with Z and we arrived at Zaffera. 

The word itself is Italian, however I have found that it stems from the latin word for Sapphire. I only learned this after deciding on the name, but there really are no coincidences. So Zaffera Studios was born.

Although I've been making jewelry off and on since I was little, it wasn't till 2017 that I decided I really wanted to make a go of it. I took a class where I made my first ring and I was hooked. Since then I have been building this business and was able to jump in full-time this year.  

For now Zaffera is based in a small town in Central Utah, but my husband and I have a hard time sitting still, something I am working on. No matter where we are, you being here means everything. Your support is why I am able to live my dream, and that means the world to my little family. So thank you.
