Manō, or sharks, represent strength, guidance and protection and are very sacred within the Hawaiian culture. Ancient Hawaiians believed that sharks carried supernatural powers with some families even having their own shark god. It is also believed that the spirits of loved ones return in the form of sharks.
The triangle is the ancient symbol used to represent niho manō, meaning shark teeth. Made completely by hand, this piece is a labor of love. My hope is that when wearing these, that you will feel not only more connected with your higher-self, but also your kūpuna and, of course, the āina.
